Following a review of the Rules of the Association, to pick up for changes to the Associations Incorporation Act changes to the Model Rules, it was noted that some additional changes to the Rules were required. This is primarily the inclusion of a clause that the Association is authorised to trade in accordance with Section 51 of the Incorporated Associations Act. This results in some other changes being necessary as well.
The inclusion of the authorisation to trade is necessary to enable our Shop to continue in operation as it comprises a substantial part of our income.
To initiate these changes, it is proposed to hold a General Meeting on the July 2010 Open Day (10 July 2010) at 10.00am. All current financial members are invited to attend and vote. Morning tea will be available from 9.30am. A marked up copy of the proposed new rules is located on the members’ page of the website for download.
