Come and see the heritage-listed Hawthorn Tram Depot and the fleet of 20 heritage trams at the Melbourne Tram Museum, during the Open House Melbourne weekend, on Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm.

During this weekend there will be self-guided and volunteer-led tours of the building and of Melbourne’s heritage tram fleet.

Guided tours will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The first tour starts at 10:15am, and then from 10:30am every half hour, with the last tour leaving at 3pm. Tours will run for 15 minutes.

Catch our two special exhibitions:

  • Transporting Art – showcasing forty years of Melbourne’s art trams
  • Wattle Park: picnic by tram.

During this special weekend, admission is free!

The museum entrance is on the City (western) end of the depot building.

Car parking is available at the Wallen Road Reserve car park next to the depot (towards the city).

If travelling by tram, take route 70 or 75 to stop 29 (Riversdale Junction) at the intersection of Riversdale Road, Power Street and Wallen Road. From the tram stop, walk down Wallen Road beside the depot to the museum entrance at the western end of the building.
