Lecture on Melbourne’s cable trams and social evening – 13 December 2008

The Melbourne Tram Museum proud to announce that noted tramway historian Robert Green will be giving a lecture on the history of Melbourne’s cable trams on Saturday 13 December 2008, at the close of our Open Day.

This social event will commence at 5pm at the Melbourne Tram Museum with drinks and nibbles, with the lecture scheduled to start at 5:30pm.

Robert gave the same lecture at the Institute of Engineers earlier this year – if you missed out, this is your opportunity to find out more about the history of Melbourne’s cable trams, which ran from 1885 to 1940.

The Melbourne Tram Museum is located at 8 Wallen Road, Hawthorn, Vic 3122. For directions, check our visitors page.

Entry will be free for museum members; entry for non-members is $10 for individuals and $20 for families. New members are welcome to join on the night and save the cost of the entry fee – annual memberships cost only $25. If you intend coming, please RSVP with your name and details to info@trammuseum.org.au by 5 December 2008.
